Does anyone know anything about the really Old Tree which stands just outside Laund House in Storiths ?..To get to see it, if you cross the Bardon Tower river bridge, and follow the road a few hundred yards to little junction, then turn immediately right ( theres a signpost to Storiths and Hazlewood, single lane with passing places - and continue on, you cant miss the tree ! Its there, on the left hand side, outside "Laund House" The road then drops down towards the Strid on the Wharf at Bolton Abbey. But the tree is Wonderful !any replies, to aronrecklaw@tesco.net (thanks)

back in the '50's, I went with my mother and father on a farm in Hambleton. I cannot remember the name or address of the farm. Does anyone have any information regarding farms in that area. I suspect it is closed now. I have a photo of the farmhouse and the farmer and his wife. If anyone has any info, please contact me at ANDY14348@aol.com Thanks Andy Hearse

My great grandfather Joseph Rayner born in Great Broughton Married Ruth Kirby of Garton on the Wold and lived in Thornton Le Bean in 1841 to 1887. My Grandfather worked at Thornton Hall as a farm servant until he married Elizabeth Harrison of East Harlsey in 1881 . They at some stage moved to Stockton On Tees. If anyone in the village can furnish me with any information on the Rayner family in Thornton Le Beans I will be very pleased to receive it. please e-mail krayner@ntlworld.com

Tockwith is a thriving community lying between Wetherby and York. It stands on the edge of Marston Moor, site of the English Civil War battle. With a popular and highly rated Church of England primary school, shop, Post Office and two excellent pubs, Tockwith is a great place to live.
