With easy access to Northampton and Bedford this welcoming community is perfect for all. Numerous local pubs, restaurants and activities accomodate families with children, commuters and indivduals equally. With the Church, Village shop/ Post Office, Pub and primary school at the centre, this village is truly an idylic spot. Come and visit us, stay in one of the local Bed and Breakfasts and unwind.

A lot of my relatives/past ancestors came from Grimscote. Along the Davis line and Ayres, some of them moved to Kislingbury. Does anyone have any info about them....?

West Haddon is a village in the Daventry district of the county of Northamptonshire in England. The A428 runs through the middle of the village, but a bypass was completed in December 2005 and officially opened on Tuesday 13th December 2005. The bypass runs around the North edge of the village, connecting the Crick and Northampton exits of the A428. The village has two churches: a Church of England church called All Saints, and a baptist church.

This was our first home together. We moved into the cottage soon after we married in 1955 after spending three months with Bill's parents who lived just across the fields. It belonged to The Earl Spencer Estate where Bill was employed as a forestry worker. The garden was massive with 10 apple trees, two pear trees and one plum tree. There was also a large holly tree, thus the name Holly Cottage. The cottage was then 400 years old and had exposed beams and an ingle nook fireplace. It had no mod cons. No bathroom, and the toilet was halfway down the garden. The four years that we lived there, Bill grew all his own vegetables and we kept chickens and cockerals. Me being a Londoner and at only eighteen, I wasn't happy living in the country, with only two buses a day to the nearest town which was Northampton. Today I would have loved that kind of house
