Comment: The Bridge Inn & Ferry (known locally as 'The Boat' because, sadly, there's no longer a Bridge or Ferry!)

Comment: The Bridge is the only pub in the area with a direct riverside frontage. The views are delightful.

The Bridge is Offenham's vllage pub. The pub has a fascinating history, known to go back at least 300 years, it was once on the route of pack-horses ferrying salt from Droitwich to London. The pub is directly opposite the site of the historic 1265 'Battle of Evesham'. Although defeated in this battle, the efforts of Simon de Montfort ultimately led to the establishment of the British Parliamentary system. "All is well , if at evening, per chance, We can say We have spent a good day up the River. And have sterling coin ready our reckoning to pay, Though it may not amount to a fiver. Then each have a friend near to lend a him a hand As he gooes down the steps to the Wherry, When our host shall call 'Time' and we heed the command, At the Bridge Inn at Offenham Ferry." Taken from 'The Idyllic Avon' By John HenryGarret - 1906

Small village with some very beautifull properties. Excellent local riding schoo, Seven Acres, with easy access to hacking on the Malvern Hills.
